Re: Need help asap to ride
I've had a starter go bad in an fzr before. put it in 3rd and rock it back and let the clutch out - you should hear the starter click, now put it in neutral and press starter. if it turns over and the starter is noisy it's probably a bad starter.

Re: Motor oils
You also have to be careful with oil in general...here is a few important facts we'll start off with: a 10w40 means it's a 10 weight oil that flows like a 40w oil at operating temperature. a 20w 40 means it's a 20 weight oil that flows like a 40w oil at operating temperature. So what does this all m...

Most of your local shops should have a bucket full of assorted fuel filters.

Had the same problem without a conversion, was just the chain. They get tight/loose spots, time for a new one probably.

Re: Ranting about petcocks
I'm selling it because I'm starting school, I won't even have time to ride probably. College > FZR. This just pushed me along. In the 3 years I've owned it even with a stuck float/needle one time it still would not cause the engine to fill up in the middle of the summer. Bad luck? Probably. It happe...

So I cracked open the oil plug and probably got a gallon or gallon and a half out of it. Pump/carbs went on the fritz.

Holy SH!T hydrolock?
Went to start bike, it ran fine before...next thing I know after I turn it over about 3 times after not having touched it for a week or so gas just sprays out of it. Now it won't start, guessing it blew right through the oil pan gasket. First decent offer picks this bike up and takes it home right n...

Re: boots what to buy
I see people wearing the new vega sports for track and around the block. Cheap and effective. I bought a pair of their older sport boots a few years ago and they were cheap but functional and comfortable. The new ones are like 100$ and they look so much better. They have a few pairs of low boots also.
