Re: Ram air tubes causing havoc!
There should be a hole that go through the frame close to the air intake tubes - plug it or cover with some tape. See, the FZR carbs were not made for ram air. Those tubes are there for looks... The YZF carbs (97+) were made for ram air and the tubes work. Gotcha. That wasn't a smart design idea. S...

Re: Ram air tubes causing havoc!
I'm not sure i know which side and hole you're talking about. Do you mean the hole that goes to the airbox?zero9243 wrote:I mean, you could always plug the hole on the other side of the frame and see if that makes a difference. You could still use the tubes then and hopefully not have any weird gremlins.

darrin
Oh. Darn I'd like to use them after winning them off eBay. Sounds like a carb resynch is needed.

Re: Ram air tubes causing havoc!
That's what I thought too. But, I kid you not the bike was coughing and spitting fire. Took the tubes off and all is well. Could air be getting on the coils or something? I have coils from an R6 I believe. Reelrazor hooked me up last summer. Feel free to chime in btw razor:-). I have a stock airbox ...

Ram air tubes causing havoc!
I picked up a pair of the OEM ram air tubes for my 98 600. Put them on and the madness began. My bike wouldn't stay running. It backfired and sputtered. I had to keep bliping the throttle and even then it was backfiring like a gun fight! I took the tubes off and it started up and ran normal. I assum...

K thanks. I have a 1998. You say keep the spares but if it's blown why should I keep it? Only the high beam works.

Blew a bulb? High Beams work.
I accidently let a power wire touch the forks and it blew the main fuse. Replaced the fuse and now only one headlight works on low beam. When I switch to high of course the high beams come on. Both lights are supposed to be on at low beam right? Can those bulbs be bought at a regular auto parts stor...

Re: Blinkers supposed to stay on?
Thanks a ton! Disconnected the blue and redid the red green and black. I zip tied the right side negative wire to the forks for now. I will have to remove the fairing to find the other black negative wire. But for now it all works. No running lights. And they blink strong.

Re: Blinkers supposed to stay on?
From wiring diagrams iv saw some US front blinkers have dual filament bulbs 1 for blinkers 1 for running lights, if the new front blinkers only have 2 wires then they are blinkers only. US wiring diagram is here http://fzronline.com/wiki/doku.php?id=park_turn_signals Green is positive black is nega...

Re: Blinkers supposed to stay on?
George that may right! I just rode for a few miles and they didnt burn out or blow. For some reason I'm thinking the rears arent suppose to stay on. I tried pulling the wires one at a time and they go out, no blink. I'm stumped. There's only two wires coming off the harness and two wires coming off ...

Re: Blinkers supposed to stay on?
Hmm, the fronts do come one with the ignition. The rears too. Could there be a crossed wire? Theres only two wires per light. They are aftermarket. Only two wires coming off the harness too.

Blinkers supposed to stay on?
Finally, decided to fire up my Fizz for the riding season here in Missouri. I picked up a front fairing and had to take the short stalk front blinkers off as they didnt work with a stock fairing. Went to Cyclegear and picked up a pair of flush mount amber colored signals. Two wires, red and black. P...
